Network Infrastructure

Our web hosting accounts are connected to state-of-the-art network infrastructure. Multiple connections to the internet using BGP4 tecnology mean that should any connection fail, the others will immediately take over all the traffic. This not only means that loss of internet connectivity is extremely unlikely, but also that traffic is automatically sent along the fastest of the many paths to its destination.

Dual redundant firewalls protect the network from attacks. Raindust Internet accounts are located on multiple hot-swap redundant servers, and are backed-up to dual hot-swap network storage and backup devices. The network itself is operating entirely on Cisco network equipment, the industry leader. The network is based on gigabit technology and uses 100% CAT6 network cable.

Servers

All Raindust Internet accounts are hosted on high specification servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux, which has an excellent track record on security and reliability. The servers are continually kept up-to-date with system and security patches.
